The Iron King is the first book of the Iron Fey series by Kagawa. I really enjoy this book as it brings me back to my childhood books of fairies and magic, only with a darker twists. The text has brings about vivid imagery and describes scenery, emotion and action very well, although there are some characters which are introduced which I do not believe are described well. This is mainly when a mythological creature is mentioned and it is not one I am familiar with.
In some ways the plot type is similar to that of twilight (love triangle) only with much more depth and I find the character is a lot more independent, relate-able, interesting and less desperate and annoying (also the writer does not make as many grammar or spelling mistakes). The story drew me in and I found myself up until 4am to read it.
I do recommend it and I must say I am looking forward to read the remaining of the series.
