For the #ReadWomen2014 challenge, I decided to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.
First and foremost, I want to say, Laini Taylor, if you ever read this ... wow. Thank you so much. Really, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for writing an amazing story, thank you for creating such beautiful characters, like Karou / Mad and Akiva and Brimstone and absolutely everyone because I love them all, or at least feel the way I'm supposed to (cough Chiro cough), and most of all, thank you for being an amazing writer.
Just the plotline itself makes this book an intriguing and wonderful book. I can't ask for any more from this book, because it's made me laugh and cry and awe all at the same time. It's such a page turner - it keeps you up at night, rolling around in bed wondering what's going to happen next and then you decide your thoughts only aren't enough so you flip the light back on and keep reading even though it's two A.M in the morning and you have six hours of school to endure but it's okay, because you love this book.
All in all, I recommend this book to anyone who's looking for something different and exciting, as it truly is a great book.
