I have to say that when I saw this challenge I was a little suprised. It never occured to me that this was an issue. However I started to look carefully after reading the description and noticed it is in fact true.
One of my friends recommended the book to me that I read for this challenge and I enjoyed it so much I decided to go ahead and read the rest of the trilogy. It was "Divergent" by Veronica Roth and it really touched something in me.
I won't go into too much detail in case anyone on here is thinking of reading it but the book centers around a girl called Tris who finds she is Divergent, meaning she doesn't "fit in". I believe that at some point in everyone's lives there is a time when they don't fit in, and this book tackles the issue head-on (while adding some much appreciated hotness from the leader "4" and some much loved action). I believe every person would find someone in this series that they would be able to sympathize with and equate themselves to. It's for this reason that this YA novel is so touching and popular. Issues like diversity, power abuse and even physical abuse are all touched on and dealt with in a way that makes this book a masterpiece filled with life lessons and moments that will change your views on the world. A definite must read.
