Plastic-Free Day

Could you spend a day completely without plastic?

In 2027, it is predicted there will be enough plastic electronics sitting in Australian landfills to fill up 650 Airbus A380 airplanes.

What’s more, around 50 million plastic bags enter the litter stream every year and only about a third of this gets recycled.

Plastic keyboard, plastic framed computer monitor, plastic bag, plastic bottle.

We encounter plastic daily, used constantly but recycled infrequently.

We want to challenge you to do a plastic free day. We want you to try and do twenty four hours without using consumable plastic. That means no plastic containers, no plastic pens or plastic headphones.

We’ll be doing it too. So drop us a line, tell us about the challenges you faced. You can read about the problems we had at the Sustain Me blog.
