Get a media pass to Unleashed

You could interview Remi, Allday and D at Sea at the changemaker event of the year.

We are looking for 10 young journalists, photographers, bloggers and video and media makers (aged between 16-25) to cover a weekend of social change and top Australian music at FYA’s Unleashed Festival.

Unleashed is our second annual social change festival, and this year we’re bringing a handful of amazing young recording artists along for the ride. Headlining is Allday, whose new album debuted at #3 in the Aus iTunes charts last month.

Thousands of young people will be getting together to make friends, change and noise at the beautiful, world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, on August 31, for Unleashed!

As a youth journalist, you'll have an access-all-areas pass to the Unleashed Festival. That means you’ll get to rub shoulders with some of Australia’s most accomplished young changemakers, and get to hang backstage with Allday, Remi, Sietta and D at Sea. All pieces will be published on, and the best will be promoted to our Facebook community of over 50,000 people.

To apply to cover Unleashed, you will need to pitch a story idea, blog or photoessay related to social change. You will have to answer the following questions in no more than 300 words:

  • What is your story idea?
  • How is it related to the youth and social change?
  • How are you going to research the topic?
  • Who are you planning to interview?

Make sure to include links to your CV and other work if you have any.

Post your pitch as a response to this challenge by 5pm, Friday 22nd August.

Please note: participants will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to attend Unleashed.
