Last year was the hottest year on record, and it looks like this year we’re in for more of the same. According to a report from The Climate Council, this is the world’s 38th consecutive year with above-average global temperatures. This has a devastating effect on animals, plants and humans as record breaking weather and extreme heat become more frequent. Scary stuff, right?
Here’s how you can help: every year on March 1st, Australians around the country pull on the rubber gloves and grab a bin bag for Clean Up Australia Day. Clean Up Australia Day aims to clean up, conserve and protect our natural environment by mobilising people to clean up their local area. This year, Clean Up Australia Day turns 25, and it’s more critical than ever that we help the environment in any way we can.
So what do you need to do?
Jump on the Clean Up Australia Day website find a Clean Up near you or register your own.
Get out there on March 1st! Bring your friends, bring your family, bring a date, bring anyone who can lend a hand to help clean up the environment.
